What Are TheĀ Riff MeisterĀ Courses?
Back in 2023, IĀ launched a Riff Meister Boot Camp where I released a riff a day for four weeks. I tackledĀ classic bass riffs from different styles, and went on further, to teach bassists just like you, how to lock-in and groove with the dummer, and how to develop these riffs.
This course was a roaring success and after many suggestions,Ā I went on to create the Riff Meister 2 course.

A big part of playing bass is perfecting the art of playing riffs repetitively and accurately whilst at the same time laying down a solid groove for the rest of the band. Thatās exactly what youāll learn how to do in Level 1 of the Riff Meister courses.

As bass players we need to become great at locking in with the drummer. Youāll get plenty of practice with this in the course, especially jamming with the 40 bespoke live drum loops specifically created to accompany the 40 classic riffs.
Are the Riff Meister courses suitable for YOU?

I have designed the courses in such a way that you will get a lot out of them if you are a beginner, intermediate or more advanced bassist.
There are three levels in the courses as follows:
- Level 1Ā - This is where you learn the main riffs which are accessible for even beginner bass players
- Levels 2 & 3Ā - For more experienced players, youāll play other parts of the bass lines & different variations of the main riff that include:
- More complex rhythms
- Suitable fills and lick
- Counter-melodies
- Articulations
4 Styles In 4 Weeks
Both courses are divided up into four weeks and the five riffs a week are in four different styles of music.Ā But you can spend as long as you like on each āweekā as you have the course for life.
Focusing on bass riffs from particular styles of music helps you to learn the concepts behind creating your own bass lines and fills that are authentic to the style of music that you are playing in. In each course, Iāve picked classic riffs from tunes in the following styles:
