Bass Line Breakdown Club - Month 1: Gimme Back My Bullets

Session Dates:

  •  Wed 11th March 2026 @3pm(GMT)
  •  Wed 25th March 2026 @3pm(GMT)
Lock in Leon Wilkeson’s driving Southern‑rock groove in two relaxed, live sessions – without getting lost in a wall of tabs.

What we’ll cover in this workshop

In this monthly workshop we dig into the bass line for Lynyrd Skynyrd’s ‘Gimme Back My Bullets’ – a proper blues‑rock riff that’s all about time, tone and attitude.”

What we'll learn:

  • The main riff and song form – verse, chorus and key figures.

  • Right‑hand attack and groove for that tight, punchy feel.

  • How to handle the syncopation and pushes without rushing.

  • Simple fills and variations you can sprinkle in without overplaying.

  • I'll show you a simplified version if you are struggling with the original bass line
