What exactly is the Walk With The Masters course?
Walk With The Masters is a video course containing 7 modules, each consisting of 3 lessons on average. The aims of this course are to give you the skills and understanding to play bass in a variety of Jazz styles, including Latin, Swing and BeBop. No previous experience with Jazz is needed to sign up.
What level do I need to be to sign up?
If you've just picked up a bass for the first time, I don't suggest that you take this course. But if the following applies then you are the perfect candidate!
- You enjoy listening to Jazz
- You have a basic understanding of intervals and chords
- You want to build on your present standard of bass playing
- You play electric or upright bass
Although all the bass players we study in the course are upright players, I teach the course on electric bass. I also demonstrate all the bass lines on my upright bass. The choice of bass that you use is yours to make, although I lean more towards using electric bass to teach this course.
